FAT HAM

By James Ijames, Directed by Derek Charles Livingston

Performances begin May 1, 2026

Winner of the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Drama

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright James Ijames reinvents Shakespeare’s masterpiece in this comic tragedy. Juicy is a queer, Southern college kid well-versed in Shakespeare and Radiohead. When the ghost of his father demands revenge, he questions whether to break cycles of trauma or follow fate. Amid a raucous family barbeque, FAT HAM explores love, loss, pain, and joy.

“Hot and sizzling... A raucous, flat-out hilarious comedy... FAT HAM is a revelation.”
The New York Times

“Uproarious... an unalloyed comedy pleasure.”Wall Street Journal

“Delicious, funny and piercingly moving, Fat Ham is a celebration that’s as thoughtful as it is irreverent.”Daily Beast
