Cabaret Gala Honoring James Black

Friday, November 11, 2022 at 6:30pm
at The Ballroom at Tanglewood

HONORING JAMES BLACK - a treasured Houston theatre actor and director whose name has become synonymous with artistic excellence and generosity of spirit. 4th Wall was proud to have Mr. Black direct the critically-acclaimed Houston Premiere production of GLORIA in the spring of 2022, and Mr. Black has also made significant artistic achievements over the years at the Houston Shakespeare Festival, Main Street Theater, Stages, and the Alley Theatre where he was a member of the resident acting company and appeared in more than 100 productions.

“I feel deeply honored to be recognized in this year’s event because in many ways, 4th Wall embodies what I love most about theatre and why I have chosen to make my career in Houston. When I directed GLORIA at 4th Wall earlier this spring, the experience of working at such a high level in such an intimate venue recharged me artistically and reminded me why I got into this business in the first place. Please know that when you invest in an organization like 4th Wall, you are directly supporting artists like me who have made their lives and careers in Houston theatre.”
